Purpose, Goals, and Philosophies
The Marie Bauer Early Education Center is part of the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District, with the purpose of providing an exemplary education to our younger community members. Through collaboration with excellent elementary teachers, staff, and community partnerships, we are “the bridge to student success.”
Our goal is to empower all children to be lifelong learners, to find wonder and delight through a hands-on curriculum, and to acquire social/personal skills that will allow them to be successful throughout their educational careers.
At the heart of our program is a deep understanding and appreciation for human development. We value each child and the role their family and community play in his/her earliest learning foundations. We strive to create a nurturing environment that builds relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
Curriculum is developed based upon ongoing assessment of the children in the program and the preschool environment. Research in the field tells us that children are most successful when given opportunities to explore, to be challenged, and be engaged in developmentally appropriate provocations that lead to curiosity and wonder about the world around them. The Marie Bauer Early Education Center utilizes the California Preschool Learning Foundations and Frameworks as a way for teachers to present material in a purposeful, yet playful way. These Foundations and Frameworks align with the Common Core State Standards and Frameworks utilized in the PRJUSD Elementary Schools.
The Marie Bauer Early Education Center offers Preschool Sessions Monday- Friday. Morning, Afternoon, and Full Day options are all available. Depending on enrollment need, Before Care (7:30-8:00) and After Care hours (11:00-4:00 or 3:00-4:00) will be offered. The preschool follows the PRJUSD School Year Calendar, observing all holidays and non-student attendance days. Fees are based on an admission agreement, and outside subsidies are accepted.
New this year, Head Start and Early Learning Centers (State Preschool Programs) are now located on our site! These community programs will operate classrooms at our center and acceptance is based on income- eligibility. Days, hours, and times depend on programs. Referral information will be provided on request.
